I have a page that's a summary of the MySQL index page at
http://forums.mysql.com/index.php

What I do is download the page via WGet and then load it into a MySQL table and then select the forums I want about 22 out of the 110.

Then I export those and the date to a local file so I can view the ones I'm interested in.

Right now I'm using FLOAT:LEFT on the Anchors, followed by the date of the last post then a <BR> like so:

<title>MySQL Forums</title><style> a {float:left;width: 3in;margin-left:5mm;} </style><h2>MySQL Forums for January 13, 2009-14:55:37</h2>
<font color='gray'><a ref="http://forums.mysql.com/list.php?3">Announcements</a><span class="forum-last-post" nowrap="nowrap">January 05, 2009 11:19PM</span></font><br>
<font color='gray'><a ref="http://forums.mysql.com/list.php?28">Backup</a><span class="forum-last-post" nowrap="nowrap">January 13, 2009 12:01PM</span></font><br>
<font color='gray'><a ref="http://forums.mysql.com/list.php?102">Cursors</a><span class="forum-last-post" nowrap="nowrap">January 13, 2009 12:20PM</span></font><br>

It works perfect. Of course I have to muck with it :)

I want to display the SPAN font smaller (it's easier on my eyes), say 8pt or even SIZE="-1" for all of them, however this causes the nice, orderly display to show up all over the place because of the size change.

I've tried VERTICAL-ALIGN: text-bottom on the SPAN but no change.

Anyone have a suggestion ?

Do not use the font tag, it is outdated. Don't use <br /> make this a list

<h2>mysql</h2>
<ul>
<li style="color: #ddd;">Announcements <span>Date</span></li>
<li>Announcements <span>Date</span></li>
<li>Announcements <span>Date</span></li>
</ul>

Very nice.

I was hoping to learn FLOAT: LEFT but...

I guess now I can put a nice border around it ;)
