View Full Version : help. Design approved, but new "ad" conflicts.

I had tried to be as specific as possible in the title. Hope this is the right place to post.

I have been developing a website for a family members boss. Its complicated as always. Anyway, they have signed off on the design portion (twice). Now they have taken out a billboard ad with a completely different look.

This kind of leaves me in a panic, due to not being a graphic designer (mainly not knowing the appropriate way to remedy this issue).

I get an email saying that "he wants this on the site". But my site is mainly blue/white and this new image is brown and black...so does this mean I have to get a redesign? or could I simply suggest that your online presence doesn't "need" to be identical.

I have seen a few things where the online presence is different color wise to what is advertised in print media. The guy is a lawyer if that matters.

Any advice would be great.

If he has signed off on the design then he either lives with the ad looking different or asks for a paid redesign. You should not be expected to jump just because of changing circumstances, a sign off is a sign off!

oh great! I figured I was going to get something like "you are working on a project for a client, and you should make the client happy...bla bla..."

I have kind of gotten suckered into this whole mess. I had read 20 signs you dont want this project...I felt like they knew this guy personally.

Thanks tosbourn, it was what I was looking for.
