i know it is a big project but i still thinking about it and thinking about some thing like that what it needs to be done

friend of mine told me about, if i need to setup server for that milling service i have to buy a program license from microsoft to take the permission with service like that to send unlimited emails every day from my server directly to any type of the emails inbox without typing me as a spam .

so please any body know about that microsoft program or any information about building server like that ofcourse i will be thankful and it really gonna help

Personally I wouldnt pay microsoft for squat, im still POd that i had to pay for my copy of Windows XP, If your gonna run a mail server, run it yourself with linux or something, you can use windows, but if you dont wanna help MS and buy Windows Server (NEVER BUY!!!) use Windows XP and use mail software (non microsoft) and use VertrigoServ or somethin for the web server part. If you have financial access, then go ahead and buy Windows Server, just dont be happy about it.

make sure you have a 5+ mb/s connection if you plan it to handle alot of emails.

for hardware id recommend no Intel :), i hate Intel, never have used Intel, AMD is the King. DIE INTEL!!

use one of the new quad core AMD processors, 2-8GB DDR2 ram (i have no idea if or when DDR3 is comin out), and a huge (i.e. 1 or 2 TB or bigger) SATA hard drive(have spares for backup), never use IDE for a production server. a blueray burner could be helpful for backups.

I dont know about anyone else, but I recommend using a seperate power supply just for fans. Make sure you use a UPS power backup with enough battery run the server and required hardware for 12+ hours, even better, use 2 or 3 UPS backups, just in case.

now if your gonna have the server ran by another company with a rackmount then ignore everything i just typed. But I suggest if your gonna run a big server like that, do it yourself, others F things up at t he worst times.

If you do run it yourself, make sure the server is in a always cool room, not to cold though.

Extra case fans are good too, even using a water cooling system for the CPU and north and south bridge chips is good. just make sure theres no leaks :),
water + computer parts = big big big big big problems

use external devices (i.e. blueray) when you can so power isnt drained from the server when its used.

i probably missed something, but i cant think of anything off hand.

anyone else have anything to add or remove from my list?

ok i did miss something, use air filters on the fans that blow air inside the server. (i.e. use car air filters and flatten them out and use the fan guards to hold them in place.

and use silicon to seal all the cracks throughout the case to make sure dust doesnt get in.

only thing i could find for the MS fee, is they charge for people who send spam.
couldnt see they even could charge a service fee, because every mail server has one of many spam filters, its up to the filters they use on their server as to what is labeled as spam or not.

another thing i forgot, you need spam filter software :)

well ,thanks owt200x for that useful information ,it really helps me and it gave me more knowledge about that things :)

but i still confuse about some thing , my friend told me that i have to buy that program license that i don't it's name from microsoft to take the permission to send unlimited emails every day from my server directly to any type of the emails inbox without typing me as a spam . and if i didn't buy that license after little time the messages will not deliver directly to the inbox ,it gonna deliver to the bulk (junk),it gonna type as a spam and almost of the messages will not be send too .

so i dont know about that and i wish to got help with some info about that and any body know that program name ???

thanks :)

it still matter what antispam software it being used no the mail servers themselves. MS cant control whats being sent and recieved on a Linux server.

i been googling everything i can think of and the only thing i have found is google charging companies and people who send spam.
