hello might seem simple to ya all but it i have a problem with padding on a link.

works fine in firefox but IE sucks.

CSS:

#main_nav {
margin: 0;
padding: 0;
position: absolute;
top: 0;
right: 0;
list-style: none;
}
#main_nav li {
width: 150px;
background-color: #99FFFF;
}
#main_nav a {
padding: 5px 10px 5px 10px;
display: block;
font-family: Geneva, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;
color: #006666;
}

html:

<div id="main_div">
<div id="main_img_n_nav">
<ul id="main_nav">
<li><a href="#" class="a_nav">Home</a></li>
<li><a href="#" class="a_nav">Gallery</a></li>
<li><a href="#" class="a_nav">Care Sheet</a></li>
<li><a href="#" class="a_nav">For Sale</a></li>
<li><a href="#" class="a_nav"> Contat Us</a></li>
</ul>
</div>
</div>

now does anyone know if IE suports background images on hover? What did you actually mean?
hover is the pseudo selector, which works in IE for anchors only. background-image is a rule, which can be applied to any CSS selector.
