View Full Version : unsafe operation error

I have a splash page I made in flash with some as3 buttons. The thing works fine when I test the movie but when I publish the swf and play it in the player or in a browser I get a prompt "Adobe Flash Player has stopped a potentially unsafe operation". I've changed the settings several times to always allow as the prompt tells me too but when I reload the page I get the same error and if I just click 'ok' none of the buttons work. What could be wrong?

We need to see your actionscript. There is no way for us to tell you what the problem is. We aren't psychic.

Sorry I thought it would have to do with how to set the publishing not to do with the AS.

function goAbout(event:MouseEvent):void {
navigateToURL(new URLRequest("http://evvyawards.org/27/about/") , "_self");

about_b.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, goAbout);

function goContact(event:MouseEvent):void {
navigateToURL(new URLRequest("http://evvyawards.org/27/contact/") , "_self");

contact_b.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, goContact);

function goFriends(event:MouseEvent):void {
navigateToURL(new URLRequest("http://evvyawards.org/27/friends/") , "_self");

friends_b.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, goFriends);

function goSubmit(event:MouseEvent):void {
navigateToURL(new URLRequest("http://evvyawards.org/27/submit/") , "_self");

submit_b.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, goSubmit);

function goShow(event:MouseEvent):void {
navigateToURL(new URLRequest("http://evvyawards.org/27/show/") , "_self");

show_b.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, goShow);

function goNominees(event:MouseEvent):void {
navigateToURL(new URLRequest("http://evvyawards.org/27/nominees/") , "_self");

nominees_b.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, goNominees);

function goPress(event:MouseEvent):void {
navigateToURL(new URLRequest("http://evvyawards.org/27/press/") , "_self");

press_b.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, goPress);

okay I think new URLRequest only works for external sites if the checkbox that says allow access to local files only is unchecked when publishing.
