Hello,

I am working on a site that uses css pop-out menus. The pop outs work fine in firefox but in IE7 they pop out under the parent menu items and the content on the page.. example.

Is there a fix? Or do could i just have the z-index's set incorrectly?

i cant really tell which div or class has a z-index set, but the lower the number such as 1 will be below something set too 20!!

So make sure that all menu items are set to a higher number then all of the objects it is behind!!

I think the submenu is not showing at all in IE.
Have you considered any li-hover-fix(javascript) for IE?

http://www.htmldog.com/articles/suckerfish/dropdowns/example/vertical.html
http://examples.codecharge.com/CCSExamplePack2/VerticalCSSMenu/VCSSMenu.php

And you have to validate and fix the errors in your markup (http://validator.w3.org/check?uri=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.groundupfilms.com%2Fdistractions.html&charset=%28detect+automatically%29&doctype=Inline&group=0) to expect browser compatibility.

Do the hover fixes above apply to IE z-index bug?

I have it now that the sub menus are positioned a little further to the left to avoid going under the parent menu items... This still doesn't really work in IE because the extra space between the sub menu items prevents the mouse from ever focusing on them.

If this makes sense to anyone... Any ideas? This thing is killing me!
