View Full Version : Having trouble with simple online contact form

So I'm no web guru obviously but I have done a few websites here and there.

I've got this super simple website that needs an equally simple contact form that when it's submitted, the end recipient gets an email with the form information.

Now, I've got the contact form all put together as well as the FormMail.pl file.

Can someone on here check it out and see what I'm doing wrong? It seems like I've got everything set right but I keep getting an error.

The site is: www.aviationfurniture.com/contact2.html

This is the error I'm getting:
"Internal Server Error
The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.

Please contact the server administrator, webmaster@aviationfurniture.laramerriamsmith.com and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error.

More information about this error may be available in the server error log.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request."

Any info is greatly appreciated!

Really? it showed no error? I just tried it again and got the error page again. It's supposed to go to www.aviationfurniture.com/thankyou.html after the form goes through.

Ok, seems like this thing doesn't want to work on this server or something. Any recommendations on what I can do? I'm not really a programmer but I can figure out the basics. Is there some other contact form script that might work better?

It depends on what your server is running? That script accesses a PERL script that I take it handles your script... so you need to look at that script for the error. I'd recommend using something like php for a contact form like this and possibly javascript for validation in case the client has it enabled. There are plenty of tutorials, I'd recommend learning a little rather than using scripts you really don't know

Do you know of a particular script that is easy to use? And how do I find out what their server is running?
