I started developing with cakePHP. Using this framework i must use the file extension ".ctp" for some files in my projects. the .ctp files hold html/php/js/ect... The problem I have is that once i save my files as .ctp my text editor does not recognize the type so I loose all syntax highlighting.

I am using phpDesigner2007 as my editor. Does anyone know of how to change the setterins in phpDesigner2007 to allow syntax highlighting on random file extension?

Alternatively, does anyone know of a text editor that will have syntax highlighting on random extensions?

Never used phpDesigner2007 - but Textpad does allow you to set up your own file types and assign syntax files to them. You could just add "*.ctp" with the php syntax file.
