Hi all.

I have started a new web master job and I have been handed a website I need to make changes to.

Please see the website by clicking here. (http://www.w-co.co.uk/)

I need to design new buttons so when you hover over the Free Quote it changes colour. How would I do this?

Can anyone give me there thoughts on the website and what kind of changes I can make to improve this design?

Do you think the code is to much and I should re-design using xhtml strict and css?

Please let me know your thoughts.

Hi and welcome James,

I would advise you in any and all cases to redesign the site using semantic HTML strict and CSS. It doesn’t necessarily have to be XHTML but it has to be clean and semantic wich clear separation of structure (HTML) from design (CSS).

Changing the color on link mouseover is the easiest and most basic thing and I’d suggest before you take on any jobs (moreso if you get money for it) and call yourself webmaster you go and learn HTML and CSS (http://htmldog.com/) because you shouldn’t be asking how to change the color of a link.

And by the way: for site reviews there is the site review forum (http://codingforums.com/forumdisplay.php?f=37).

Ha, I think you should be changing the content a lot, too.

It's just a bunch of lists. Fansinating.
