View Full Version : Multiple HTML pages linked together

I am hoping to link multiple pages together.

I want to have a main index page, and within that page, the banner and navigation at the top ( the first html page).

The news at the bottom ( the 2nd page)

I want to do this so that I can have links to (news page 2,3,4,5,6,etc) without having to reload the flash intro for the banner.

Is this possible? Can I link the page so the header does not reload?

Thanks in advance,

You can do one of a number of things:

Use javascript. There are various methods of creating a 'tabbed' kind of layout with content switching, google it. But with this method bear in mind that not everyone has javascript enabled. There is a nice way that uses CSS instead, or javascirpt if you want transitions, look it up (I'll find the link later).

You could use frames, but that would require a frameset doctype and I don't know anything about, and prefer to steer clear of frames. Or you could simply create a non-flash version of the banner to be used in the other pages that aren't the home page?

AJAX could reload the html page and change the html of the div that contains the news.
