View Full Version : Page not showing Multiple Hotspot (image maps)

As always- probably something dead simple.

I have an image that I am trying to hotspot a few areas to use for navigation. It is a php page (but I dont' believe a php problem- forgive me if misposted)- and it is a static page pulling in various pages (using the x factor of gfxpage.php?x=gfx1)

As a test I have one hotspot set up on the navigation, and if i just go to gfxpage.php the hotspot shows up. However, I have a hotspot set up on the page that is being pulled in (gfx1.php)- and once that page is pulled in- that hotspot shows up- but the navigational one does not.

I can make this clearer through example.

www.prototype-designs.com/gfxpage.php (http://www.prototype-designs.com/gfxpage.php) (the raw page)

www.prototype-designs.com/gfxpage.php?=gfx1 (http://www.prototype-designs.com/gfxpage.php?=gfx1) (with info pulled in)

www.prototype-desings.com/gfx1.php (http://www.prototype-desings.com/gfx1.php) (just the info being pulled in)

The coding is standard I believe, but somehow the combination is mixing things up- and i don't know what it is.

For reference here is the "x" code used to pull in the other info (in case this might be messing it up)

$x = $_GET['x'];
//Cleanse our digital colen DC Fix
$x = str_replace(".", "", $x);
$x = str_replace(";", "", $x);
$x = str_replace("/", "", $x);
$x = preg_replace("/[^0-9a-z -_#]/i",'', $x);
if (!file_exists("$x.php")) {
} else {
if (!file_exists("x.php")) {
@include("" . $_GET['x'] . ".php");
} else

and here is the hotspot code for the navigation (i made it big to hit it easier while troubleshooting- i'm not really that blind)

<map name="Map">
<area shape="rect" coords="39,90,194,214" href="gfxpage.php?x=gfx1">

and the image map code on the page being pulled in

<map name="Map">
<area shape="rect" coords="322,253,416,277" href="gfxpage.php?x=gfx2">

You'll have to forgive me- I haven't really used hotspots before, I generally use image slices for this purpose, but I wanted to try it and get some practice on it- shows what I get for trying something eh?

All help welcomed.
