I was given the chance to get some free Certification training a while back and I have been taken advantage of it. I was given a dead line for finishing the training that I had signed up for. That dead line being Feb 08, But right now I am just about finish with all of the training that I had signed up for. And I was told yesterday that since I was finishing so soon that I could take some more training classes. And it was up to me on what I wanted to take.

So I was thinking about using this time to improve my web design skills. I have done some web design work but it was pretty basic stuff. I have used XHTML, some PHP and JavaScript and have done a small amount with CSS. I know enough about these to get by and to learn them on my own. Some years ago when the old TRS-80's came out I use to write some programs (small ones) in Basic and I had played around some with Assembly back then too.

So I was wondering what everyone thought would be a good direction to go. I have though about Ajax and XML ( which I have read a small amount about). But I was wondering if I should just forget all of t hat and go to something more on the lines of C++.

What do you think?

C++ isn't going to improve your web design skills, so if that's what you want don't study it. What are you trying to get out of this? If you're aiming at personal improvement take whatever seems most interesting. If you're looking for something likely to be an asset on your resume think AJAX or .NET.

I too was thinking more on the line of either Ajax or .Net. They are both kind of interesting to me anyway.

When I first started out with the training I just wanted my A+ Certification. But now I have the A+, Network+ and will soon have the MCDST Certification. And I will be left with some extra time to fill before Feb 08 comes along. So I was looking for some more Certifications to add to my Resume. That would lean more to web design anyway.
