View Full Version : Complex Script Creation.

I need help putting together a script that will take all standard text on a page and translate it to another language (spanish or german).

So if I post this script on my blog at any given time (in the comment section) it will change the language for all viewers.

Where do I start?

Will this work on both FF and IE6/7?

You are joking of course. :) "Out of sight, out of mind" becomes "Invisible idiot".

Seriously, what gives you the extraordianry idea that JavaScript can translate documents from one spoken language to another?

grammar doesn't have to be correct.

This is how I imagined it to work in theory:

I post my script.

all text is copied and entered into a translator (babelfish, etc)

output is displayed back into my blog.

How impossible is this? What should I be trying to do to accomplish this?

Google has translation tools. You could maybe just include a link on your site to Google's version of your site translated.

maybe a metarefresh to the link that google.com/translate spits out after translation?

I would need the input to change like a variable though. so i can just copy paste this code into 2 different blogs and get the seperate results.
