I have decided to add a banner to my website and it is causing the tops of my columns to fail to line up.

Would someone be able to have a quick look at it and tell me anything obvious that I'm doing wrong? The new website is here:
http://homepage.ntlworld.com/gina.langridge/test/

For reference, the earlier version looked like this:
http://homepage.ntlworld.com/gina.langridge/test2/

Any thoughts or help will be gratefully received.

actually before you added your banner they side columns didn't line up either. The blue area did, but the left column is actually higher up. your using absolute positioning on the side columns. In this case just adjust the top: of each of them.

It would be better in the long run not to absolute position them though.

For some reason they only look right when the values are set as you see them. If I make both columns have the same 'top' value, they don't appear to line up.

I think you're right. My problem is that I'm trying to get the html to be logical, so the text needs to precede the navigation. But then I have problems putting the navigation visually on the page before the content.

Thank you for looking at it. And thank you for the link :)
