Hello everyone,

I am VERY new to coding my own stuff. In fact, for my site I have used a template and I am in the process of customizing it.

here is my current problem:

at my site, http://digressionsinabundance.blogspot.com I have a banner at the top of the page. I am trying to make that banner stretch across the entire screen.

I haven't been able to successfully get it to go across the whole screen and at the same time contract and get bigger when the browser page is resized.

I also realize that the code is pretty terrible and probably wholly inefficient right now.

Can anyone help me out?

Thanks,
AFW

Instead of using the image as a background image you need to use the image tag in your code

<img src="http://music.adamfwilson.com/dia.gif" width="100%" height="110" alt="">
This will allow it to stretch but it will also become pixelated at larger resolutions. What you might be able to do is remove the width on the element that the background image is on and apply a block background color to the element making the background image not repeat. This will give the look that its stretched out but the image will always be aligned to the left.

Hi there,

I realize you're a "newbie" and all, but you must read the Posting Guidelines (http://www.codingforums.com/postguide.htm) just like everyone else. Please revise your title to something more appropriate. Thanks.
