View Full Version : Soldat programming?

So I know nothing about coding. How could I find some1 that could code a RPG thing into soldat? Or how would I do it, or learn how to? Explain what the delphi and jedi libraries are. Thanks. Should I post this somewhere else to get more responses?

"It is coded in the Delphi programming language using the JEDI libraries" -from wikipedia

You won't be able to do this. Soldat provides no way of altering functionality via plugins etc.

Delphi is a programming language.

JEDI seems to be a collection of libraries that some of which just happen to have been used in soldat. See http://www.delphi-jedi.org/

Libraries are just collections of code that are grouped up so that they can be commonly used by lots of different applications. For example MFC is a collection of C++ classes made by microsoft to help programmers to develop applications that have consistent open dialogues, toolbars etc. Thousands of applications use MFC.

I don't find delphi to be a very nice language but thats just my oppinion.

Both what Delphi are and what JEDI libraries are is irrelevant. They were just what was used to write soldat. Unless you have the source code (and hes not going to give it to you) you can't make changes.

You may be able to write your own server for soldat (I tried once, it wasn't too hard for me, but then I have written gameservers before etc. Once you have written a gameserver its usually pretty easy to see what types of encryption are being used just from looking at packets.) or do whatever the hell it is that hackers cheat with (hook dlls or just modify the memory with a trainer?) but if you dont even know what delphi is, you don't stand a chance.

You stand a better chance making your own game exactly as you want it from scratch. If you intend to to this, I would reccomend learning python and using pygame.
