Hello...

I'm having problems with a bit of javascripting on a piece of code I've found... I'm not a javascripter by anymeans, so I don't' know how to fix my problem. The error shows up when I open it in IE (running 6.0 right now), and displays:

A runtime error has occured, do you wish to debug?

Line 10: Error: 'document.getElementById (...)' is null or not an object.

The link to the page is http://dnrc.mt.gov/templates/menus.asp . Javascripting I'm using is below.

TIA!

Janel

Embedded code in the document is: (if you move this into the header, the menus don't work, an example of how they are supposed to work is on this page: http://www.dynamicdrive.com/dynamicindex1/navigate1.htm (http://www.dynamicdrive.com/dynamicindex1/navigate1.htm)

Did you put the ddtreemenu.createTree code block after the tree menu list (ul's and li's)?

Hey Glenn,

I've put it both places. Right now it's above the code, but I get the same error either way. I tried defining a paragraph above the lists as a id="treeid" but that took the functionality of the menus expanding and collasping away entirely.

Don't put the code at both places. Put it only after the list and remove the other one.

Sorry... what I meant was that I had put it in both places but only once on the page on either occasion. Right now the code is below the Lists, but I still get the same error.

You have this:

ddtreemenu.createTree("treemenu2", false)

but you don't have a list with id treemenu2, that's why you get an error.

Awesome, it works! Thank you for your help!
