View Full Version : Site Crit request

My site (www.funpigs.com (http://www.funpigs.com) ) is set up to trade bootlegs of Dave Matthews shows. It's more of a hobby than anything else. But, I think it's coming right along. (here's the sytlesheet (http://www.funpigs.com/c2_css.htm)

BTW, Dave both condones and encourages (http://www.dmband.com/legal_popup.asp) taping and trading. There is nothing illegal on the site.

Thoughts? Be real, if you don't like the colors or fonts or whatever, let me know. My biggest concern is that I use (almost) no graphics on the site. Does that make it look sloppy?

Popups are no good.

popup(s)? i only got 1

i think you should work out a better layout.
horizontal scrollbars are one of the viewers worst enemies
not to mention a design no-no

I just don't see the horizontal scroll bars...

And, as far as the popups...they exist because I'm a freeloader on bravepages.com. There used to be banners, but they hosed my layout. So, I popped in a <nobanner> tag and away they went.

I'm working on a header graphic and a navbar graphic.

Thanks for the tips

See 'em now?

Quite a neat site...I'm with cg9com...horizontal scrolls (on 8 by 6) are icky. You might try shrinking down that image, slimming out your menu, and plopping percentages into the tables so they are compatible on any resolution.

And hey, zoobie...how did you fix up IE to display your name instead of Microsoft? That's a neat little trick.

He's probably designed at a higher resolution.

{I use Xteq from download.com to customize my computer's hidden files although several are available. :D}

Uhg, that looks horrible, I didn't test at 800x600. I'll go in and fix it and repost when I'm done.

thanks for the feedback.

I'd also like to know how you changed the titlebar...has to be a reg hack...

Ok, I optimized the entire site for 800x600. I checked it in NS 7, IE 6 and Op 6. No more scrollbars.

other suggestions?

Thanks for all your help!!!
