View Full Version : Find Images?

I have created a database full of PSP Wallpapers. If i have a wallpaper for the same person then i have used the same description in my mysql database. For example, i have numerous images for Wayne Rooney, these come under a catagory of Football, but the description is "Wayne Rooney"

I now want to create a page where i could have a list of the descriptions so when people click on "Wayne Rooney Wallpapers" it searches my database and only produces the wallpapers for this search.

I am looking to create a single page for a list (sort of site map) of every description i have.

Wayne Rooney Wallpapers
Pamela Anderson Wallpapers
etc etc

What do i need to do? I am a complete novice, so assume i know nothing.

Pretty new to this myself so I don't have a complete answer for you. But what I can offer are recommendations on two books that may help you out. Sams Publishing's MySQL Crash Course by Ben Forta and Visual QuickPro Guide's PHP and MySQL for Dynamic Web Sites by Larry Ullman. Niether book is a definitive guide but both offer most everything you need to go from novice to intermediate level fairly quick.

That said here's a stab at the part of answer though. Your query string to find the database records might read something like this: SELECT description FROM wallpapers WHERE description = 'Wayne Rooney';. That's assuming a database named wallpapers and field named description. As for the web page the Ullman book should steer you through that.

Good luck,
