View Full Version : Javascript Coding Challenges - A Way to Learn JS

I was wondering if the more experienced coders would be interested in putting up Javascript related challenges in this forum (or perhaps the mods can create a separate forum is this idea takes off?). Every couple of days someone posts a "challenge" and the JS noobs (myself included) will try to come up with a solution to solve the challenge. Noobs shouldn't post the code in the thread (since it will spoil it for other noobs), rather links to the solution would be better since there is less of a "spoiler" to clicking the link. The forum will archive the challenges and the solutions so that future users will be able to learn from them. Challenges can start off with simple JS or a simple yui-ext.

What do you think?

If you are an experienced coder and have a simple/easy challenge to start off with then post a new thread with the word "Challenge" in it and let's try it out...

Sounds like a good idea.

Here is a challenge for you.

given a textarea that is used to post comments on a web page, create a script (using regular expression) that remove JavaScript blocks from the textarea before the form is submitted, without removing any other elements such as <b>, <h1> <a> etc.

Good Luck
