View Full Version : Background image displays in Firefox but not IE?

I have a background image within my banner div, that for some reason appears to appear white in IE instead of the intended image that it does correctly in firefox.

Anyone see the error in the code?

<a name="top">
<div id="banner">
<img src="pclogo.png" alt="pc" title="pc" width="420" height="59">
<div class="floatr"><form method="POST" action="search.asp">
<img src="search.gif" alt="Search" width="61" height="40" border="0" align="absmiddle" title="Search">
<input type="text" name="search" size="12" class="searchbox" style="width: 126px" title="Searchbox"">
<input name="I3" type="image" title="Go" src="go-butn.gif" alt="Go" align="absmiddle" width="52" height="40" border="0" class="center">

body {
font: normal 13px verdana;
margin: 10px 10px 0px 10px;
padding: 0;
background: url("bga.gif") repeat-x 0 0;
#banner {
background: url("tra.png");
_background: #fff;
height: 60px;
border: 1px solid #dcdcdc;
voice-family: "\"}\"";
voice-family: inherit;
height: 64px;
text-align: center;
.floatr {
float: right;
margin: 0;
margin-top: -45px;

Remove this:
_background: #fff;

I had previously tried that, it does not make a difference if that line is in it or removed. Still I have the problem.

Is this (http://homepage.ntlworld.com/bobosola/) the problem?

Changing the file extension won't work. I've had the same problem multiple times but changing the extension has never fixed it. I don't really know how to fix it other than one thing that did it for me... I just took it back into my photo shop and saved it again! Worked fine after that.

Actually, in one of my recent projects (http://obolopo.com/site/system/blogger/), you can't see the menu buttons but you can see the background. But here (http://obolopo.com/site/system/blogger/design/images/home_button.png)'s a direct link to home button.
