View Full Version : CSS Background Image Problem

The background file that is tiling that I am calling is showing up in the table as well as a 2nd time behind the text which makes this look funny. Example here

I am calling the top_menu class from my styles.css sheet using this coding

<td width="100%" height="30" align="left" valign="middle" class="topmenu_div">

This is the coding in my styles.css file

font-family : Verdana;
font-size : 11px;
font-weight : bold;
color: #222222;
background-image: url(./images/menu-tile.gif);
background-repeat: repeat;

How can I get it so the image just shows up in the table background, and not seperately behind the text?

You can do this in different ways.

One way is to style the td of the table where the links are displayed. for example

<td style="background-image: url( /images/back.gif ); background-repeat: repeat-x; ">
your data here

or you can specify a class for that particular td.

good luck.
