is it possible to make my page whole i css? I don't know how to stretch the gifs in those columns on the sides of the page with CSS, currently I'm using the tables (width 100%)

It is preferable to control a website's layout with CSS.

That of course does not mean that you must use CSS...as some designs can be tricky to control when only using CSS.

In any case, you should look at layout techniques to learn how to do it yourself.

Here is a couple of websites that provide examples of how you can achieve different layouts using CSS.

Since the vast majority of your layout already is table-free, it will be fairly simple to get rid of that last layout table.
Basically, since your layout is a fixed width centered one, all that is needed is a container div replacing the outer table; this can be used for everything the table currently does, minus the left and right columns, so just the center column.
Center this container div using auto left and right margins (margin: 0 auto;) and move the current left and right background images to a single image set as background for the body element, aligned such that the visual effect matches the current setup.
