hosting a website on 2 servers?

    Hi all,

I'm not a coder. I have a problem that I hope someone can help me with.

I've commissioned an app for my website. I think it's a valuable app and because I don't know anything about server administration I thought it would be best to host the app on a separate server. The app has now been coded and works on the developer's server. I've gone ahead and bought 3 years with godaddy (my current website is hosted with Bytemark in the UK - the developer did not like Bytemark OS options.) What I did not realise is that one domain goes with one website goes with one server. I have 2 apps set up on my current website and my current server which I don't want to disturb.

The developer of the app is not much help. How do we set this up so that my website on the current server points to the new app on a different server?

Edited to add: One solution would be to have the app set up under a different domain name but one of the main reasons for the app is that it should generate lots of pages and lots of views to improve my SEO. So I want it to have the same domain name as my website so that google sees it as pages on my website.

Many thanks in advance for your help.

If moving the new app to existing server is not a solution and you need it to have the same DNS name you can also proxy all traffic from one server to other server with two lines in apache config. Little google on those keywords should give you many more examples.
    PHP Code:
    ProxyPass "/foo" "http://foo.example.com/bar"
    ProxyPassReverse "/foo" "http://foo.example.com/bar"
