We are excited about the ServiceNow product and we have realised a number of benefits through deployment of capabilities such as Incident, Problem, Change, Request Fulfilment, Catalogue, Knowledge, Demand, Software Asset and Finance Query Management for our SIAM, Finance and Engineering Functions. During this time we continue to improve the service and exploit existing capability through a regular release of small changes. Over the next few years we aim to continue with our pipeline with the launch of a new Portal, deliver ServiceNow for external clients and continue to exploit new modules and features being released on the platform.

As a ServiceNow Product Owner, you will be the focal point of the product and provide strong leadership and direction on where you want to take the product, you will work with a dedicated product team to build and support ServiceNow (currently on Jakarta release). This will include defining and developing the product roadmap and ensuring the product’s integrity and service performance. You will be fully accountable for the pipeline, delivery of change and the performance of the service to business customers and end users.

This role provides a large scope to bring in new ideas, implement change and drive forward the technology and the team to exploit ServiceNow capability effectively and efficiently.

Your main responsibilities as a ServiceNow Product Owner will involve:

Provide strong, inspiring and engaging leadership to senior leaders, business customers and to the product team. Accountability for the ServiceNow Product will sit firmly with the Product Owner

Working with customers and suppliers, be accountable for the product roadmap, delivery of pipeline and performance of the service with high expectations of delivering business value through a smooth and continuous flow of change with high service levels and customer satisfaction

Managing stakeholders at every level of the organisation through effective stakeholder management, communications and building effective and high-performing relationships. This role will be the primarily focal point for engagement with the ServiceNow vendor.

Being accountable for and managing the costs and recoveries for the delivery of the product. This will include forecasting the 5 year business plan and managing costs and recoveries which will come from various sources (e.g. projects, changes, service consumption)

Managing change lifecycle from requirements definition to receipt of change into live service using the Agile methodology and/or DevOps movement. Delivery of a smooth and fast flow of change with minimal waste is a key component of this role. The Product Owner will be expected to delivery high quality changes at pace to ensure that business expectation is met quickly and value can be realised in a timely manner.

Ensuring the Customer Satisfaction targets are achieved through formal customer surveys and through obtaining feedback from the customer community

Ensuring continuous service improvement in terms of improving performance, reducing costs and improving the customer experience

Mentoring and coaching colleagues within BAE Systems and influencing customers about the right way to build and use ServiceNow

Attending conferences and seminars relating to your product, its roadmap and how other customers are transforming their environment with existing and new features

Developing strategies to encourage user adoption, increasing user satisfaction, embedding a sense of excitement in the business with ServiceNow


Your skills and qualifications as a ServiceNow Product Owner will ideally include:

Essential

Demonstrable experience with ServiceNow both in terms of delivery of capabilities and supporting the service
Strong leadership skills with a track record of working with senior business leaders and with technical teams with exceptional communication and collaboration skills
Experience in using and potentially implementing ITIL based service processes
Experience in using Agile project management (specifically Scrum) processes
Understanding of system architecture, design, development and support of cloud services
Experience of leading and facilitating a DevOps environment where flexibility, creativity, standardisation and automation are commonplace

Desirable

Experience of implementing and executing under ITIL process framework in an environment certified to ISO 20000 standards would be advantageous
Delivery of projects under Prince2 or equivalent methodologies
Understanding of Machine Learning in a service management environment
