I am urgently seeking a CGI Developer

Job purpose:

Provide bespoke applications and software development solutions to the CGI Studio. Solve complex 2D/3D CGI challenges and develop innovative solutions as part of the CGI Studio roadmap.

Key accountabilities:

Develop in-house Digital Production Tracking and Asset Management Systems

Develop in-house CGI Configurator application

Continue on-going development of CGI CAD Systems

To maintain a high level of efficiency within the CGI Studio, communicating all pipeline changes to the department, where necessary

Take ownership of CGI development projects, providing optimal solutions against an agreed brief

Take ownership and troubleshoot software problems in the CGI studio through to resolution to an agreed service level agreement via the helpdesk

These problems could include the operating system, in-house plug-ins, scripts, interface errors as well as other 3rd party technologies

You will be expected to keep up to date on new research and industry developments, and maintain knowledge in relevant fields and contribute regularly to the CGI Studio collective learning within the team environment

Ensure documentation, operation manuals, policies, wiki knowledge base is kept up to date

Take ownership and maintain the CGI studio’s software, scripts and source code repositories

Carry out any reasonable duties as identified by your line manager

Skills Required:
•CAD experience with Ideas / Catia / TeamCenter - programming.
•Expert Python / JavaScript & VBScript Programmer
•Web / ASP programming experience
•DB / MySQL / Postgres experience
•Windows Shell / API programming
•Experience with Apache httpd build, deploy, support, config
•Programming Languages; c#, c++, vb.Net, .Net Framework
•Scripting Languages; cmd line, MAXScript
•Experience of other scripting languages - MELScript, TCL, Perl
•Pragmatic approach to solving complex programming/production issues
•Solid understanding of a CG pipeline
•Experience of Windows 7 OS
•Experience of Linux OS

Awareness of programming methodologies such as AGILE

Ability to lead in advanced troubleshooting without guidance for 2D / 3D / CGI studio based software

Sound understanding of industry standard programming techniques

Qualification:

Undergraduate/Postgraduate degree or diploma in Computing Science, or related 2D/3D discipline

Able to work overtime as and when required, sometimes at short notice

Experience in the digital content creation industry

Strong desire and ability to learn and apply new knowledge and techniques

Valid Driving License
