Website development wanted for startup NON PAYING!!!!!! sweat equity only
I have been in business for 20+ years and have a great dull normal business plan for a website magazine. I have been working in this industry for 20+ years and simply have a better way to catch the mouse. This is a needed service and if the site/functionality/market penetration are even ho hum, this site will make a lot of money. This would be of benefit to you as your efforts to develop the site would mean you owned an interest and would share in the vast riches that surely await this venture.
I know how to use a browser but otherwise know nothing about development. If there is someone or group that needs some work and wants to do some sweat equity investing, this is solid plan and has great potential.
I need a site that as I have been told, will be relatively complex. The markup doesn't need to be spectacular, but functionally I am told it is a sizable task. The closet thing out there that I can relate it to is craigslist.
I ask two things. Understand your skill level and whether or not you can actually deliver the site and do so with conviction and in a timely manner. Second, while you do not need to be an MBA, have some business sense and be aware of the potential income of the site and what you would stand to gain from participating.

The first thing you should learn about web development is that it is real actual work, and should be treated as such. In other words, you need to be prepared to pay for the work you need done-- work that is critical to the success of your company. You would NEVER start up a retail business and expect a strip mall landlord/owner to give you a store front rent free, on the promise of future equity! Why would you ask this very thing of a professional web developer?
I recommend, if you have no investment capital to get your website created, seek out angel investors in your area and if your business plan is as solid as you suggest, an angel investor will immediately see the potential and heap upon you gobs of cash which you can use to pay someone to create your website. These investors understand the high risk and will also do you the favor of either confirming your plan (by investing), or giving you a reality check (by telling you your plan stinks).
You will find it is very rare to find a good web developer who will take on all the up-front risk of a startup. (Usually the good ones did this once, learned his/her lesson, and won't do it again. You may be able to find a bright-eyed inexperienced developer who agrees to assume your risk, puts a few hundred hours into the project and never sees a dime, and then joins the ranks of the good (and now bitter and/or wiser) web developers who learned his/her lesson the hard way )
