Would someone critique just 3-4 pages of my site, please?

    Hello,

I've build an online bookstore entirely from scratch. It looks aesthetic and functional to me, but I'm getting a low purchase ratio. If someone would review just the 5 pages I list below, I'd be happy to return the favor.

    Home
    Bookstore
    Ezine
    Execution of Justice
    For Authors

    Thanks,

    Wow, where to start...

Well firstly I couldnt even figure out how to buy books from you even if I wanted to - all I found were links to other sites like Amazon and Barnes & Noble. If I want to buy a book from amazon I can go there directly.

The site looks like it was made by a kid in their bedroom... 8 years ago. It looks amatuer and I'd never hand over my credit card details to an amatuer. The red and black on white is very 'hard sell internet scam'. You'd be amazed at how many e-books that can solve all of your lifes problems for just $24.99 if you BUY NOW! websites have the same colour scheme and style.

I dont like the rollovers on some of your links and I like even less that some of the links dont rollover - inconsistancy.

Delving further into the site, I see that its not a bookstore at all. Its the website of someone who couldnt(or didnt try to) get their book published so their using lulu to print on demand copies and trying to earn extra revenue through affiliate links to other bookshops.

If you want to make a website to promote and sell your book then do it. Dont try to con your potential customers, you're just driving them away.

Spend some money and get a professionally designed and built website that focuses on promoting your book. Ditch the pretenses of being a publishing house, or a bookstore or a book shopping mall, it just not going to work.

please fix up your code first then we can work on your UI.
