Need some criticisms on my new layout

I am working on a new layout for my site (a Harry Potter fan site) and I would like some criticisms as for the color scheme, how it looks in your browser/screen res.

    Layout

Here's what I see (FireFox, 1280x1024) and is what I'm going for.

The dark blue/grey/black scheme is on purpose (works well with the theme).

And obviously everything is hard coded. Even the link colors are just font colors and not links.

I'm pretty new to layout making (see my other old layouts here)

    Thanks.

    I like it

Great work, nice graphics, although I would be inclined to convert the page to a tableless design using css.

The menu at the top of the page is centered above the middle and right columns, and I reckon you probably wanted to center it over all three columns. If your site used divs instead of tables you could use a wrapper div, then contain your columns within that, and give your menu a z-index lower than the div containing Harry's legs so that they hover over the left side of the menu while it stays centered.

Thank you. I am thinking of converting it to CSS. It's just that I'm very beginner in CSS (I only know how to apply site wide stlyes for font, link color, etc) and I need to learn how to do tables. As for divs and layers - I never could figure them out. Is there any place where I can learn them (quickly)?

Sexy. I think you should try some nice bluey silver borders around your individual elements, and try and find a better font. Also, take the font brightness of the main content down a notch or two.
