I went to it.... and.. well, I was pleasantly surprised. I am not good at giving compliments but I am good at being critical.

    my complaints:
    - the ugly gray footer on the bottom
    - the forum scheme doesn't match the rest of the site
    - the forum doesn't feel 'integrated' with the rest of the site
    - the site / forum spans 100% of the width of my browser
    - the logo sucks
    - the favicon sucks

I wouldn't mind seeing different content in the pages as opposed to what you have in there now.

what I do like is the gradient.. but at work, whenever they did gradients I told them to make it appear very very subtle... such as this:
    http://www.mozilla.org/
but not as subtle as this:
    http://www.macromedia.com/

yeah.. I'm hard to please but overall your site looks pretty good.

one other comment concerning the forum... don't reinvent the wheel when you don't need to... but if it is merely a personal exercise then let my opinion rip apart your php code(or db design) as well since that will only make you better.
