    Greenock Hockey Club

I am currently working on my local hockey teams website and I was wondering what you guys think of it:

    http://ghc.ithium.net

I decided to make my own logo. It's my first ever proper graphic It's alright I suppose. A lot better than the previous one though :P

I'm mainly looking for how accessible you think the site is, have I got all the sections you would expect and what to add/remove.

Any errors means I haven't created that page yet :P

    Thanks a lot.

by accessible.. what do you mean.
Generally this term is used when one is talking about web accessibility...

So are you asking about usability or accessibility?

    The logo graphic:
It's nice, but it has some draw backs.
    1) The red lettering on the blue background is hard to read, you might consider a different font color?
    2) The logo to me doesn't speak of hockey, if this image is something that relates to the hockey team then it is fine. But otherwise to me it doesn't say "hey..I'm a hockey logo".
    3) You might want to make the logo a link to the home page, use an absolute link, for SEO reasons.

The website colors are good imo.
    The layout is very good.
The menu is good, but a little hard to use. I don't know if that can be changed at all to make it easier to figure out and thus use.

Some links, used as headers on the main page should be clearly links. I didn't know they were links until I hovered over them. I'm talking about these links:
    Men's 1st Team
    Ladie's 1st Team
    etc..

The random images is a nice touch, very well done.

All in all, you've done a good job with the website . Just some minor details to look over and consider.

    Contrast

I'd suggest reducing the overall contrast; there's pure white against very dark blue and black, which tends to tire the eyes very quickly. As IBM mentioned, the lettering in the logo/header on the other hand shows far too little contrast: I can hardly read what it says.

You may strike two flies in one blow if you lighten up the background quite a bit: it'll raise the contrast between the background and the header text, and reduce the stark transition to the white content background.
You might want to consider using a slightly off-white instead of pure white, but at any rate I'd recommend lightening up the text and heading colors.

As for the logo itself, it shows some aliasing around some of the edges; see if you can soften those a bit, jagged edges look a bit... well, not very nice.
    Regards,
    Ronald.

I've been working on it a bit. Made a few little changes and a few major changes. I'm proud of the jug book page (I'm not going to explain what the jug book is :P) My first use of GD to create a proper image, not resizing.
