    Suggestion on Web Development

    Please visit http://www.commentscafe.com

It's not fully complete but working on it. It is developed using PHP and Flash. Before I continue working, I wish someone would take few minutes, have a good look at the site and give me some suggestion on what I should do to make it better.

Am I creating a good site? Don't be shy, any suggestion will be welcome.

    Thank you all very much,

    Mike

Looks like you haven't done alot but the main concept looks like its finished, just add content.
I really like the way you integrated the menu when you click on it.
I think the layout(design) of the overall site does not look good to me, you can use less images and flash but use more CSS as it loads faster and it works for most of the browsers and its very easy to change the colors or anything you need.

There is a specific forum for site reviews. Please post in the appropriate forum in the future.

Rather boring design -- I like that you tried a different structure model, but it could use a little more photoshop skills and a little more design technique. The typography is mediocre, and out of place -- your main focal elements ('have your say') section seems overly empty -- white space can be useful, but it is not structured well here... this is site wide. I've already become bored looking for companies and going through multiple pages to pick the company, then list the time and place... I didn't get much farther than that. You should have that all on one page with a simpler structure. Most people will have less patience than us web designers do, and I don't have anything that's keeping my attention.

The onclick that loads more menu pieces is frustrating and a little unpracticle -- difficult for users to track exactly where they've gone.

Your code is rough -- did you use dreamweaver? Looks like their typical rollover javascript structure (same as golive and imageready)... it is invalid:
    http://validator.w3.org/check?uri=ht...ntscafe.com%2F

Looks like you forgot to put a doctype in, which may cause problems with rendering in browsers. You've also forgot to put 'alt' tags in there, which makes it inaccessible to handicap users, and people on palm pilots, etc. The way you embedded the flash is improper -- though, I don't think that should be flash, anyhow -- it would be much more accessible if it weren't.

Marginwidth/height and width of elements (aside from the image tags) can be done with CSS, and would work better that way. Your CSS IS valid:

Why you have two tags for it in your HTML, I'm unsure... but you could easily put the margin elements in the CSS and limit some of the junk in your html.

I'm not perfect, so don't think I'm picking on you -- but I see lots of room for improvement. However, on the plus, I think it's an elegant choice of blue and gray tone.

edit: as a side note, your scrollbar javascript won't work in most browsers, and is more annoying than anything in the ones that work. I can also click through the forms without putting any relevant info in -- I imagine this isn't finished, so that may be why, but I thought you may want to know about it. You might get a lot of junk posts because of it.

^--+1, and also, can you please include a button to stop all looping screen animations? I honestly was too distracted by everything moving on the screen to focus on the form elements..

I do like it, but your distribution of white-space has left it looking cluttered in some places and empty or 'lost' in others.

I take no responsibility for the above nonsense.
