    Website Review

Please comment on my site, it has no metatags yet as it is not where it should be. It is here http://www.christinesweb.co.uk/lewis...eme/index.html
Please critique design, usability, and anything else you notice and want to bring to my attention. The facebook thing does not validate. And the contact form is not yet working or email.

at first look i was tempted to ask why first page doesn't have a Home tab then i realised that is logic, you are home on the first page,
I'm not sure how many people will understand this,

    there are few problems:
    - mising meta tags, keyword and description
    - validation( including link validation, miss one to the pfd files), i know is work in progress, i only mention here

in general i like your site, great work,

    best regards

    HI Osex
It is supposed to be good SEO to not link to the current page.
I am aware of the metatags. But not the pdf links thank you for that and thanks for your comment on the site. I need encoragement, as I find it frustrating, with all that you have to learn.

What do you mean on the validation? do you mean the contact form or the WC3 validator?

Must say you get around the forums dont you

you mean the Home tab? the best way is to have links in both directions.
Is a navigation problem, visitors can land on your site on any page and they need to go in any direction they like.

well i'm bad with at least two things, graphics and encoragement,

no, w3c have a link checker,

    http://validator.w3.org/checklink

in fact is a set of tools for validation:

    http://www.w3.org/QA/Tools/

i have the feeling that you don't use this:

    https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/fir...web-developer/

is a firefox extension, a set of tools for web developers.

    best regards

I have used webmaster tools but now they have got rid of the page rank, I use another kind now.

The google seo starte guide says that you must not use unecessary links and linking to the home page whilst on the homepage is unecessary, http://www.google.com/.../search-eng...rter-guide.pdf page 17

I do encourage my charities to get as many links as possible from people and to link to some too.

Your'e not bad at encouragment, just a few good words help me feel better.

Thanks for the other tools, they will be very useful.

you get this wrong, page rank is just an indicator and yes goole try to get rid of it from many years but this is not important. The model is the same and all conclusion from that article will remain no matter what changes will make google, yahoo or bing in their search engines.

The google seo starte guide says that you must not use unecessary links and linking to the home page whilst on the homepage is unecessary, http://www.google.com/.../search-eng...rter-guide.pdf page 17
is not unecessary, no linking back create dead ends,
if we consider two pages A and B:
A -> B and not having B -> A, means that somebody who land on B have no way to go to A.

I do encourage my charities to get as many links as possible from people and to link to some too.
are many kind of links, some are poison, you don't want links from a porno site to a site for children education, right?

Your'e not bad at encouragment, just a few good words help me feel better.

Thanks for the other tools, they will be very useful.
you are welcome and i'm glad to know that i help you,

    best regards

IE8 shows a js error of somekind. On the contact page...mail.js I think. Didnt look into it.

Also, in IE8 your message box breaks out of your fieldset. FF looks fine though.

    HI Teed
Yes, I have just starting browser checking and IE8 is well out, the mail code I did not though there was an error, will look into it if I can.
    Thanks for viewing
