Newbie Looking for Feedback on Site

    Hey there,

I'm new here and new to webdesigning too. I was just looking for some feedback on this site I'm almost finished (still tweaking the photo gallery section).

But overall, how's the sites look/feel, usability, etc. etc.

What's a ballpark figure on what I could charge someone for a site like this?

Thanks a lot! Any and all input is greatly appreciated!!!

    -Kelly

Pretty solid design, nothing too complicated, but gets the job done, which is the important thing.

I have to say though, the Javascript slideshow is too distracting... the pictures change too often. Give the visitor the ability to stop on an image, or skip through them quickly. And a fade effect between images would really help as well. You might want to look into using jQuery to enhance the slideshow to make it something really impressive. (carousels are pretty popular right now but I'm not much of a fan) Here's one that does a good job and has lots of options (including an option to pause):

    http://malsup.com/jquery/cycle/

You may also want to consider using a serif font such as Georgia for the headers in the text-- it brings them out a little better. Increasing their size would also help.

The FAQ should have the list of questions up top with links to each answer so the visitor can scan through the questions quickly, finding the ones that match their own questions.

You mentioned you're still working on the photo gallery so I may be jumping the gun here but your thumbnails really should be actual thumbnail images, not forcibly-resized-via-html images. When you take a 400x600 image and force it a display as 40x60, it looks terrible (and bloats the page size).

Clicking submit on the contact form just jumps me back to the home page...? You need to let me know that the form was submitted successfully and my request for info or whatever will be handled.

    Overall, nice job.

Better, but cross-posting is BAD. Read the forum rules. I moved jeremy's post here.
