    Granite Worktop Site

I have started my own business and built the site, I have had some experience with web development but not much, I have been reading alot and learning about SEO and php.

I built my own site to start my business and am currently trying to do the seo for google rankings.

Please take a look at my site and any feedback welcome, here are some of the main pages:

Overall this looks nice. The colors are modern and pleasing.

You have one small validation error on your home page (and therefore probably others as well):
    http://validator.w3.org/check?uri=ht...Inline&group=0

One aesthetic issue I see is the "quality guarantee" stamp. It's not very highly visible. I would say either punch up the color on the stamp or get rid of it completely from the banner and place it as text somewhere else.

On the kitchen worktop page you might want to make those thumbnails link to a full-size picture - somewhat like your granite colors section does. After all, you're selling your granite workmanship, not your web design so don't forget to let people see what you can do for them.

On your "Granite Worktop Online Quote" page your sample links are inactive (e.g. "Islands (Click here for example)" is not clickable and does nothing).

Some of the granite colors have missing data in the right panel (specifically the "cooking on granite" section.

IE7 shows the site nicely. FF seems to have everything in the right place, but the fonts are a bit mutilated in the header ("
Granite Worktops stone, marble and quartz") and the navigation (where style counts most). You may want to put the tagline into the image for the header to keep the font smooth and beautiful.

    Just some thoughts...

    It's usually a good idea to start out with this at the VERY TOP of your CSS: * {border:0;margin:0;padding:0;}

I will post a reivew, but I first ask the OP to remove their links that are an attempt at SEO link buildling. One link is sufficient to your site please. Once you have done this I will gladly review.

I have looked for the edit button to remove the second two links but for some reason it is not available. I apologize for the attempt at seo.

Thanks for your input, I will make some of the changes and fix my validation.
As for the stamp, I think its best to remove that all together as I was not quite sure it I liked it anyway.

Great, I'm glad to offer that review I promised!

It seems a bit narrow overall. Could it be widened?

Some of the text in the header is hard to read against the image, because the text is white and blends in. Perhaps mute the image or something? Also the guarantee stamp is hard to see.

I understand you want to do SEO, but all of the links at the bottom look more like spam than legitimate links.

It would be great to have your images so they can be clicked to show a full resolution. Those thumbnails are not easy to see the details.

The links inside of the page seem more like spam instead of legitimate links. I know they are also SEO tactics, but I would rethink those some.

Overall the design needs a little consolidation, the header is a little too disconnected from the overall design IMO.
