What exactly are we supposed to review? There's nothing but a single image on that page. I'm confused...

personally, I'm a strong advocate against Splash pages...5-7 years ago they were kinda cool because it was like a welcome mat for a browser, but now-a-days, most people like to go straight to the site and skip the extra step. in addition, I don't think it's wise to use a "coming soon" because it makes your work seem unfinished and non-polished. I would suggest releasing the entire site at once.

....but that's just me, even though I'm right all the time, 60% of the time.

Ok, thanks guys, I got a general question... Once a our website is put down for no more than 1 hour, and I have a splash page to tell "Were down for the weekly upload sorry were almost done..." would that be a good time or use of a splash page...

A splash page should only be used when the decision made on the splash page will affect the viewing experience of the viewer, such as Flash or HTML, 800x600 or 1024x768, high or low bandwidth, like for example:
    http://www.lucrativmortgage.com
    http://ford-f150.2a-archive.com

Otherwise it just slows down the browsing experience. If you're going to be down for a bit then just write somewhere that "we should be fully functional within __ minutes", that way your viewers can return at the appropriate time, otherwise they will become frustrated (if they are not already).

Ya generally i only use splash pages when I require the user to select what language they want to view the site in. And honestly if i knew a bit more about php or other languages I'm sure i could avoid this some how by storing my users language choice in a cookie or somthing.
