    overall critique

This is my first site where I have stopped having fun, and would like it to have a respectable feel.
I would appreciate reviews on everything, coding, graphics, the overall feel, user friendliness, various browsers ( I have tested with firefox and Opera).
Thanks to any who bother to look.

From a coding point of view, its awful. Tables nested in tables. 30 coding errors btw, see them here.

From a graphics point of view. They look like they may have been done in MS Paint or something except for the text in the header. I'm also not a fan of anything that scrolls.

From a user friendliness point of view, its bad. I browse around with javascript disabled. Your navigation was useless to me since you change content using javascript. At least provide actual pages with the content so people like me can click on the links and still be able to read your content.

Overall look, well it looks a bit plain. I think there should be some type of background image rather than being transparent in the content area. I also don't like how you mixed up the different font families. Stick with one font to create uniformity.

When I allow javascript on your site, I see your content which gets the point across so good job on the content part.

If you're going to have a forum as part of our site, it would have a more respectable feel if the forum matched the design of your site more closely. The forum is merely the standard phpBB template (subSilver) with the phpBB logo removed (nothing wrong with that). Frankly, that template is rather old and tired.

Changing the look of your forum is probably not as daunting as it sounds. phpBB 2.x uses .tpl files (template) which are nothing more than html files (cut into pieces, header - body - footer, etc). So, if you're comfortable with html you should have no problem editing these to more closely match the look of your site.

http://phpbbhacks.com has an extensive template download section and a full demo showing the look of all the templates in their db - so you may find something closer to the look you want. They also have a decent tutorials section with a number of tutorials relating to the templates

    Edit:
corrected the link to phpbbhacks. sorry

    Thanks PappaJohn

It doesn't sound too difficult to do. I probably wouldn't have attempted it. Your last post doesn't make it sound too difficult.
Thanks again for that helpful tip and reference.

    My pleasure.

If you have questions or problems hacking your template, the support staff at phpbbhacks is quite helpful and knowledgeable.

BTW: I just edited my last post to correct the link.
