    Anyone care to comment?

    Hi,
I've recently started making massive improvements in my site and am wondering if I can get some feedback on it.

The site is to be a "working portfolio", not only showing other sites I have been involved with but also utilising the library of code I have built up over the past 2 years to develop sites with. I aim to extend the functionality and expand the site over the coming weeks.

As the first post on the site currently is asking for members to join and give input, I would just like to assure you that this is a genuine request for a review of the site layout/content/design, I'm not using the forum in an attempt to gather members.

PS - I didn't realise I hadn't actually taken part in these forums before.. My apologies, I shall remedy that. It's rude to post without actually playing an active part.

    The panels to the right?

I know the colour profile on my computer is a little off, it looks a light blue hover on a grey background to me. I assume it doesn't look the same for you.

    Accessibility problems:
    • This issue was already mentioned, but when hovering over hyperlinks, the text color is gray and difficult to read.
    • The document background color is not specified. My default document background is black, not white (like you’ve assumed), so when the gradient image background ends, I see black.
    • Unspecified text color on top of specified content background colors (white and gray). My default text color is lavender, so I see a difficult-to-read lavender text on white and gray backgrounds.
    • Same as the previous problem, hyperlink colors are not specified, yet background colors are. What if someone chose white as their browser’s default hyperlink colors?

To test for yourself in Firefox, go to Tools > Options > Content tab > Colors and change the text and hyperlink colors to something light, such as lavender, and the background color to something dark, such as black. Make sure that you disable system colors. Internet Explorer allows similar customization.

    Code problems:
    • onclick="target='_blank'" is not correct JavaScript.
    • When using event attributes, the attribute type should be declared via a meta element. For example:
      Code:
      <meta http-equiv="Content-Script-Type" content="text/javascript"/>
For every complex problem, there is an answer that is clear, simple, and wrong.

Now that's more help than I expected!

Thank-you very much. I will get on with those now, and see how I get on. Thank-you for taking the time.
