disabling keyboard PrtScn function

I am looking for a way to disable the keyboard print screen function on my web pages, is it possible? can anyone help?

Give up before you try any longer, not going to happen. Plus what if a person disabled JavaScript, uses a site ripper, etc. If you do not want something to be stolen, watermark it, put it up with crappy quality, or just do not put it up at all.

well thanks for nothing alien51, you dont have to be rude.

i have already read the ongoing thread about trying to stop view source and preventing picture rip offs, and am aware that it is impossible to 100% protect anything on the net and the only way to protect anything on the net is not to be on the net in the first place!

the idea is to make it hard for the average joe blogs who will most likely decide to go elsewhere that it is easier to get pictures that are similar.

so if there is anyone out there that is not so rude and wishes to give me this false sense of security then please help

agree, if you can stop other to print their computer screen, you already try to disfunction other computer because there is no meaning to disfunction their key only on IE. This is illegal.

You can always remove the key from your keyboard if you don't trust yourself to not press it. It isn't part of your web page so Javascript has no access to it.

My two cents' worth: it's not rude to suggest that it is impossible, but it's fine to ask too, I reckon.

I used to teach in a computer lab and wished I'd had a method to stop some kids hitting the print screen button 10 times in a row. Short of hacking off the key itself (or fingers), I guess I could have disabled the key via disturbing ANSI.SYS or something. It was just easier to give detentions.

This is a pretty neat idea to display photos - in a swf but with a copyright display too.

Yeah, I think swfs might be quite good for locking up photos. But as the guys who know say, nothing is unswipeable if someone wants something bad enough.

I would think printing out your photos would probably be a waste of time, though - I mean what can you do with a photo printout? Hand 'em out on the street? Put a nice watermark on it and it advertises YOU!

I'd like to get hold of a copy of the commercial transparent grid with the word SEX written umpteen times all over it - it's visible in close up on any photo in every magazine every printed in the past 40 years if you go looking for it. Subliminal but there. Maybe you could get even more creative!

Also I can not view the site in firefox...I hope you want to chop off 13% of surfers.
