Can you recomend easy to use pro software to make headers/banners?

What do you want? Easy to use or pro software?
Most graphic designers use Adobe Photoshop, some use Macromedia Fireworks (which both also have a professional price), and a free alternative is GIMP.
But you should know that they don't make the header graphic. With all programs (professional or not) it's still you that has to be creative to produce a nice graphic.
