I like Firefox 1.5 better because its more customizable than IE 7. Firefox allows you to install extensions that help development go faster. I think it still has better support for standards than IE and because you are able to change the way your browser works easily I think its a bit more secure. It lets you actually go into the browser and change things using its config page. IE kind of lets you do that but its still limit. Can you install a built in validator into IE? You can in Firefox. Its an extension. MS tried to make their own developer toolbar for IE but I think the Web Developer extension for Firefox is way better. It has a lot more useful tools.

Have you seen http://www.microsoft.com/ in both? If you notice, the colour of the footer is different in IE7 Beta 3 than in Firefox 1.5. In fact, Firefox lacks any colour at all when rendering the footer. IE7b3 has a gradient applied.
A great test to choose for CSS standards compliance: Acid2 Test
IE7b3 still fails badly, but as the developers stated in a couple of blogs, they have no intention of even trying to pass the Acid2 test. Firefox has been able to fail gracefully since Firefox 1.0 IIRC, though I can't be sure.
I actually like IE7 better for one reason: Bookmarks.
I like the fact that it tells you which site you are currently visiting. Specially helpful when you have a lottttt of bookmars.

The difference comes when using the bookmark tab. In IE7, if you click a bookmark, the bookmark tab will close(unless you choose to pin it, which I think is another nice feature), just like on firefox. The thing is, you can open new tabs or windows, surf the internet all you want, but the next time you open the bookmark tab, IE7 will highlight the last bookmark you clicked. Your mouse will even be able to hoover over other bookmars without losing track of the one you clicked before.
You can also open several windows, and the bookmark history from one window will not affect the other windows. This is not true for tabs.
So, I opened IE7, clicked bookmark > CodingForums. Then I oppened a new tab, went to yahoo.com. Oppened another window and oppened google through bookmark. Went back to 1st window, and when I oppened the bookmark tab, CodingForum was still highlighted:

Ahh I see what you mean now. To upload pictures you need to click on the manage attachments button located towards the bottom in Advanced view, in the Additional Options panel. You can upload almost any file type up to 50kb in size.

So, you mainly like it for it's development tools? Such as the DHTML Validation tool.

I did notice this. Same thing with the header. Also in firefox the Right Column is missing. Is this perhaps their way of advertising IE?

DTD's roots are in SGML, which was developed in the 1960's. I don't know when DTD came out, but I would assume before HTML existed.
In any case, Firefox is a non-validating XML consumer. E.g., it simply ignores DTD's, Schemas, etc. It will parse out entity declarations, but that is all. So, Firefox supports the feed with DTD, yes, but the fact that it has a DTD has nothing to do with it, since it is ignored. As for IE, MSXML has bizarre DTD parsing. It fails at understanding the XHTML 1.1 DTD, so I would assume that RSS+DTD is not working becausing IE is trying to validate the feed against the DTD, which it isn't parsing correctly (or perhaps the RSS DTD is in error, also a possibility).
I like Opera 9 better than either of them but Firefox isn't too bad (just a bit slower to load and runs Javascript animations slower than Opera).
Internet Explorer 7 is approximately equivalent to Firefox 0.7 or Opera 7 in its functionality. Microsoft have developed it to fix about 600 security holes in IE6 that couldn't be fixed any other way and have only implemented about 5% of the changes that would be needed to catch up with the standards support of the other browsers.
Firefox 1.5 would be the best choice. Never go for an Internet Explorer version, unless Microsoft severly redoes there whole browser. Bottom line is, its crap, no matter what minor changes they put in to fix security holes, theyre only smoothing the cracks. Internet Explorer, no matter what version, has more security risks than any other browsers, statisticly because its unsafe, and its the most popular. Even if Firefox was volnerable, you would be way less likely to get infected, because its just not as widely used.
