Back in the late 1960's and early 1970's there was a radio show called "Beaker Street" on 1090 am KAAY Little Rock Arkansas. The show was on from 7pm to midnight. It was heard all over the midwestern United States. I live in Northwest Illinois. I had to listen to it on my car radio.
Clyde Clifford the D.J. sometimes played a talking song called "Sinking Of The Bismarck". It was 90 minutes long and started out really slow , worked up to a fever pitch and back down again. He only played this song about three times as far as I know.
It was the longest song I have ever heard. I would love to have an MP3 of it.
Beaker Street played songs by artists that might not have otherwise gotten air time. Definitely not main stream music.
