Changing Drives Letters

I was wondering how can I change the drive letter of an external HDD in windows 2000. I know how to do it in Computer Management, but I am trying to do it at work so that I can use a database I have on my external and all the link tables are linked to the E: drive. So is there anyway I can change it without having to be an administrator.

You have to use the drive management snap-in in the MMC (which is also under Computer Management). And if you can't do it without being administrator, I'm not sure there is a way. Unless it is being picked up as like the D drive and you need to force it to E, you could plug like a jump drive in first so that it takes D and the external will go to E.

I need the External HDD to show up as E:, but no matter when I put it in it always appears as F: even if it is the first thing I put in. I tried putting my gig stick in as well, and it always shows up as E:. As for the other method yea they have me locked out of it.
