header feeding into template

hi was wondering hw i wud make a header file and make it appear on pages i want by say like
<--include "header.html" -->

if uget what i meen
so index file doesnt actualy have the header code it calls the header template
hw wud i do this

i worked it out just after

i rememberd sumthing i did before

its for a main site should make it easyer so we can edit 1file n it will show on all others,save time
