pls. help! how to save xml source in unicode text file

hi guys

i wonder if you ever experienced getting "Switch from current encoding to specified encoding not supported." error whenever you save the xml source using an editor, especially when you declare encoding as "utf-16"

i get this error whenever i edit or paste whole xml source in editplus editor and save it as xml, ive known somewhere that the cause of that error is that the editor that was used may not support double-byte encoding(thus only utf-8 encoding is only supported)

how do you guys save an xml/or any text using utf-16 encoding?
