Strange Problem (Frames)

Guyz am having a strange problem.

Let me explain the problem fully.
In my application on all pages(jsps) i import one common jsp which is having links to other modules of my app and also to some other external sites also.

I have one jsp which is having frames.
so in that jsp that common jsp is called from one frame source which is also a jsp.So what is happening is when i am clicking on the external sites link a js function is called and that in turn is giving me an exception of object expected.
But this error is not coming on other pages as those are not using frames.
Is there a problem in frames coding?.
