XAMPP on xp pro not serving images correctly

Hello,
I have just finished setting up xampp/apache server on a windows xp pro system, but whenever I view one of the pages that includes a photo or logo image, the image doesn't fully load...it looks like the file has been corrupt..

but when I check the file on the server, it looks fine. it also works fine when I use FTP to view the same image.

is there a way to fix this? I've noticed it only does this with XP because I recently upgraded from Win2000, which was an upgrade from Win98SE...and neither of the previous OSes had problems like this

Please help!

I don't have a problem with images not loading when using XAMMP on XP Pro. What version of XAMMP do you have? The latest is around 1.5.1 or something along those lines.
