My Domian Locked? Help Please

My friend showed me this went they couldnt access my site

Registrar: ENOM, INC.
Status: REGISTRAR-LOCK [the normal status for a domain when it is locked]
Dates: Created 15-oct-2005 Updated 26-oct-2005 Expires 15-oct-2006
DNS Servers: NS1.GEAR-HOST.COM NS2.GEAR-HOST.COM

I was referred to whois.enom.com; I'm looking it up there.

At http://www.dnsstuff.com/tools/whois.....net&cache=off

Suddenly my domain locked and now my friends cant access it and they could before.
Its not the host beacuse my friend is hosted by them and there sites working.

I am currently using www.registerfly.com and i think its this:
Domain Locking for lcarsdatabase.net:

RegisterFly.com provides flyLOCK, a service that ensures your domain is protected at all times. Avoid being 'domain jacked'. If your domain is checked below this means the name is already locked. If it is not checked, then just check the lock checkbox next to your domain. NOTE: Not all domain extensions support locking.

But if i untick it my website will be open to bieng domain jacked is this true?

I am unsure as it was working before so..

Please someone can you help?

I can get through to www.lcarsdatabase.net ok, but lcarsdatabase.net (without www) seems to be having trouble resolving.
That's something your host needs to sort out, regarding the www alias of domains hosted on their server.

Re: Domain Locking.
There should be a setting within your domain registration controls that allows you to lock and unlock your domains.
It's meant as a protection against having 3rd parties initiating the transfer out of your domain, though I'm not sure how realistic such a threat is even without domain locking.
I register domains with GoDaddy and I have all my domains locked by default, only unlocking them temporarily when I need to tweak any of the settings for a domain.
Like I say, I'm not sure how real the dangers are without domain locking, but it makes me feel just that little bit more secure and given that I can lock and unlock them with relative ease, there's no real reason not to keep them locked when I'm not tweaking them.

It's not something designed to keep you out or stop you using your domain, just something intended to offer you (and you r domains) an extra level of protection.

I believe it was in fact becoming a problem but I'm not sure on the specifics. But domain locking wasn't around until too terribly long ago so if they added it, domain jacking must of been a problem.

locked means, that nobody can steal your domain name, until it expires
