Recovering delete partition

Harddisk and Software description:

2 x 40Gb attach on single PC

1 hardisk = C, E, F
2 hardisk = D

Windows XP New is installed on C Drive (mbr of 1st harddisk)
Windows XP Old is installed on D Drive (mbr of 2nd harddisk)

unfortunately both of the Windows XP corrupt and my house mate wants to reintall the Operating System. Without messing with Windows built-in fuction he starts installing the Operating System from the begining and when the Software ask for partitions he mistakenly delete the mbr (Master boot record) of the 2nd drive which has only 1 partition.

anyway long story in short. Is there anyway to recover that partition because he was working on his corsework which is deleted .... and he is really upset.

anyhelp will be very helpful.

Thanks.

Saeed.

firepages will become famous soon enough
boot from windows CD , select 'use the recovery console' when you get a command prompt , type

fixmbr

then

fixboot

cross your fingers and reboot.
