New deisgn: what do you think?

I've been working on this design for some time now, and the more I work on it the more I feel it's missing something and I can't think of what it is! .

Anyway if you could have a look at it and let me know what you think. Most of the links take you somewhere, but not all the content is complete as you'll see.

So here it is then!

Many thanks in advance,

You have some nice XHTML but you are missing a doctype, I'd recommend adding one in.

Yeah that's a good point. Why do I always forget to put one in?!

Edit: I've added a doctype to the pages but not a charset - I'll work on this later. I'm not bothered about it validating just at the moment I'll again work on this later

Pennimus is on a distinguished road
It's just bland really... grey, blue, some gradients, and some meaningless boxes. It's missing a theme, a direction, some memorable imagery. What are you trying to say with the site - presumably, in part that you 'develop websites which are graphically appealing' - so go ahead and make yours graphically appealing

I am unsure if anyone has noticed, it might just be the way I am viewing it but the menu bar accross the top does not align correctly. It is too high which makes it overlap the orange horizontal line.

The grey-ish font color on blue background (and tiny font size) does not really sing "accessibility" to me ...

If you are incorporating as many users as possible, maybe you can offer an alternative style sheet for "limited-sight" visitors, or for a middle-aged guy like me who needs reading glasses to see the text on your site.

Just a thought.
